Just so happens I had the same question today when readying my Rolldarka (Tom Yost) frame for skinning tomorrow.
The kayak has a longer cockpit, which requires at least a 1/2" board. I went a little overboard and was in a hurry today, so I put in 3/4" plywood boards for now.
The real question was with the feet space. In the Tom Yost designs, there is nothing to put the feet on, correct? In a traditional SOF you have a few ribs to choose from as a foot rest. I ended up putting in 1/2" boards for the feet space.
I'll take some pictures tomorrow morning, weather permitting.
What do you guys think? Is it a good idea to have a floor for the feet or not?
