Without a floor at the feet it feels funny getting in and worrying about your feet digging the skin into some rock, but so far I've been fine with my feet on the skin. I wear neoprene socks as there isn't room for sandals in there so it ends up just being part of feeling the boat move with the water. Extra floor could even be worth avoiding as the only places I've dinged the skin besides along stringers and ribs was where the seat was the anvil to a chisel-shaped rock.

Tom encouraged me to position a rib at my personal length but as this was my first boat I preferred to leave it at the design position and work it out with trimmed pieces of blue board so I can experiment. It also leaves room for installing a pump (still sitting on the bench downstairs). It's at least 8 L extra flotation as a bonus.
