Strip: Damaged kayak rebuild update *Pic*
Hello all,
I sanded and sanded from 60 grit up to 220. I used a small brush with 75% bleach/ 25% water on the pine accent stripes to brighten them up without lightening the cedar any further. She's almost ready to skim-coat with West System which is nescessary due to some small gaps where the wood has expanded and then contracted when it dried out. (small being fractions of a millimeter) You can see in the picture a little staining that's left aroumd the holes for the deck hardware, but the deck lines will cover that, and it's too deep to sand out. I have thoroughly saturated it with bleach to kill any remaining fungus.
