No, actually they vary dramatically, depending on how they are processed. Some polyester fabrics, like Ceconite, are specifically designed to be heat-shrunk after application. Many others are pre-shrunk, so they will not shrink much after application. It depends on what the fabric was originally intend for. None of the fabrics we use were specifically designed to be boat skins or anything similar. For example, Dyson's 13 oz. poly' was designed as a filter fabric, so it's tightly woven and pre-shrunk. While it makes a very durable skin, it's a bear to work with because it doesn't stretch or shrink much.
