How is the grain running in the boards? Is the tight grain showing on the face of the board or the side? If the face has the tight grain you can cut 3/4" thick strips from the boards giving you 3/4 by 1+ boards. You can than cut 1/4" by 3/4" strips out of these boards. If you are using a thin blade you should get 3 or 4 strips from each.
