: Hi all!
: I now have a complete 15ft 6" Guillemot kayak and I can't wait to get it
: on the water. All I have to do now is sand it down, half a dozon coats of
: Goldspar. Then finish the foot rests and the seat. I found a lad at the
: end of the lane with an old Fordson Major and have made a fibreglass
: pattern from it's seat. It feels good, I just need to work on it to make
: it look good. I've made two paddles with slightly differing lengths and
: blade sizes. So almost nothing left to do!!!
: I have weighed it with just Nick's centre foot rail in place and it tips the
: scales at 35lbs. I used 3/16" strips and over 50% of these are WRC
: the rest are all hardwoods. 4oz cloth inside and out and double thickness
: inside the hull with some 6oz tape along the keel line and under the deck
: fore and aft of the cockpit. Does this weight sound reasonable?
