You're right on the money, I think. My 16' 6" Shooting Star is 34#, with Redfish seat, 3/16" strips, two layers of 3.2 oz. satin outside, one layer inside, mostly WRC w/some maple, redwood, and pine accents; the wife's One Ocean Storm SLT at 15' 6", similar woods, w/6 oz. plain weave and Redfish clone seat, came in at just over 30#; son's Pygmy Tern 14 S&G w/6 oz. plain weave is 36#. Haven't weighed the Wood Duck 12 Hybrid yet, but I'm sure it's under the 40# design weight. Bottom line, if you watch the resin and squeegee carefully, you can easily bring in a wood boat well under the weight of those snazzy, spendy Kevlar jobs. Nice going!
