Hey, Len, I just measured the beam. At the bottom of the hull the width measures exactly 19" and she's pretty flat there. The V-shape in the keel disappears quickly as the rocker levels out toward the center and gets flatter. The true beam width is probably not more than 1/2" wider at the sheer joint. I have no way of measuring that accurately since the Night Heron is hanging from the ceiling right now.

When I sit in it, I have a very comfortable sense of snugness that makes paddling it very enjoyable. I remain very happy with this build.
