I agree, most people come from the Euro blade camp where all the weight is at the ends and weight really makes a differance...In a Greenland paddle, with the weight distributed through-out the entire paddle. Weight is not such an issue as most people tend to think.

But we have been taught to the point that even people that don't have a scale will say things like..."I made this paddle and I believe it to be 28 oz"
