Thanks - just what I wanted to know, I'm working basic (tools in Australia, kayak in Fiji) so am glad for any imput that makes things easier.
So second strip on, and bent to a 'comfortable' amount. Now at the rate of a strip or two a day on weekends that should only leave me 6 months or so to go...
Thanks again

: It depends a bit on how much time you are prepared to spend heating and
: bending strips.
: Some people bend all the strips all the way.
: I think a lot of people compromise and bend the strip as far as can be done
: easily and then fill in the gap with a "cheater strip". That it
: the approach I have often taken. With a bit of care in strip selection it
: isn't apparent that not all the strips follow the curve if the sheer.
: It is a good idea to try to avoid having a strip cross over the chine,
: especially with a hard chine. Cheater strips are a good way to avoid that
: complication.
: Ultimately it will not make an obvious difference to the appearance,
: especially if you have an accent strip just on the sheer or immediately
: above or below so that people's attention is drawn to that.
: I'm pretty sure that is the approach I took with this one. It's a bit hard to
: tell.
