hello again everyone,

many thanks for my intitial question on what boat to go with, this board is a great resource.

Ive narrowed My boat choice down to two models (subject to change But I hope not)

Im 5'10" 245 size 12 foot. primary water is a large very rough lake , the boat will be used in calm places as well (lliy pad estuarys,non white water streams ,...) and northeast salt . I cant see ever loading this boat for ather than day paddling so cargo weight and space is not much a factor.

My 2 favorite designs for my use are (not in order)

1) Eric Schades merganser 17W I would build as a hybrid (dont like the looks of the S&G front deck

2) my other choice is the Pygmy Borealis XL . seems bigger than I need but pygmy has e mailed me several times and advised that It wont handle like a barge and due to its chine placement it will turn similar to the Arctic tern and be plenty fast enough even at a beam of 25.5" (wonder if this boat can be rolled in an emergency??)

cant find much info online any one with experience with this boat?? I know its new ??

PYGMY also said the coho would be fine for my size But its more of a straight cruiser VS a play/ explore boat.
