I strongly disagree with this statement. I once brought home 25 bags of pink insulation on the top of my 1984 Honda Accord. The insulation pile was higher than the car was. I was humming the theme song to the Beverly Hillbillies while I was driving home. I took no pictures of that event so I can't post any to show.

That said, I survived for three years using rubber boots, ropes and bungie cords before I got my Thule rack. You can do anything with the right kind of imagination and budget. Hee! Hee!
