You really need to get up under the boat to see if the strips are in contact with the forms, the strips get pretty strong so don't deflect much just pushing on them. On my Disko Bay there were sections that took a fair amount of heat to get them to conform to the bends required, suspect you'll need to do something similiar. Narrow strips do help alot. Several places I've used 3/8" wide strips to make the bends easier.
