It ain't finished, but my Greenlander Night Heron hit the water for a brief few days at the annual DelMarva Paddlers Retreat (for those crazy Greenland-style paddlers). The outfitting was temporary and barely enough to get me on the water. Lots of varnishing and outfitting left.
I believe this kayak is going to meet all of my expectations for it. It rolls easier than my skin-on-frame and is highly maneuverable without giving up decent tracking. The paddling and rolling shots at the link are of my friend Dave. Note the extension of the cockpit aft, while still an ocean cockpit forward.
Thanks to Nick for a great design and support, to Newfound Woodworks for a very complete kit and support and to all you guys who gave me tips over the last two plus years.
