Well, that's kind of cool! I can see having some long distance kayak touring applications (so you can take a nap?), or for fishing or photography - and it wouldn't hurt if you got caught out in some weather you weren't expecting. I wonder if the shorter (than a paddle float) lever arm allows for re-boarding from the water. I suspect it might be pretty hard to roll, though, even folded.
Interesting idea.
But, equally interesting is that website! Made me doubly desirous of one day wending my way through Europe via the river and canal system. Great pics.
I liked this pic, too: "First World War military cemetery at Sillery, south of Reims, taken at 11am on November 11." That's the day (Veteran's Day) and hour they ended WW1. Of course, the grunts kept on dying, pointlessly, up until then, just so the politicos could have a cool bit in the history books . . . .
