Thanks all for the responses.

As said in a post above: "If this was an enticing way to build a boat it would be in common practice, wouldn't it?" A fair point. I guess if this was easier/cheaper than building say a S&G kayak, we'd all be doing it!

Still theoretical for me, was a thought on a way to get a K1 for practice quickly, but I guess I'll wait until I've done my WRC strip one, which will look a lot better anyway :-)

If I do it though, I'll let you all know!
