Like you, I made many errors on my first strip deck. The biggest of these was poor joints at the ends. Since I had limited stock of strips, though, I simply filled them as best as I could, using sawdust and carpenters glue. I also have a couple of spots where the decking curves inward instead of outward. I decided that this was a working boat, not a showboat, so I just pressed on. Now that it is finished, though, it is stunning and gets rave reviews from everyone who sees it. I am the only person who sees the flaws. I urge you to press on. You are building a boat for fun, not for furniture. -Wes
