Camouflaging errors is definitely a skill. Are you saying that you have a center accent strip that no longer will arrive at the bow tip? One thing you can do is make a bow end piece of dark wood. This would be a triangular end piece that would be the bow deck tip and perhaps extend back 6" or so. Rob Max used to do that on his boats for another reason but it's a nice accent design item and in your case it would hide the mistake. If you just have accents that will no longer centered, don't worry, once you put in hatches and bungee cords etc. it will be well hidden.

I once put an inlay in an area that got screwed up. People were always complimenting me on the inlay.
