I designed and built this boat about twelve years ago.

The neighbor's dog got locked into my workshop by accident while the deck was under construction and chewed on the foredeck edges from the stem and back about three feet.

After killing the dog I replaced two strips on either side and got most of the bite marks, but there were some still on the third and fourth strips.

People have asked me why I call the design The Houndstooth.

No one ever noticed the bite marks. After a couple of months I stopped noticing them myself.
