Here are a couple of Chris Cunningham S&G boats I built a few years ago. I used 1/8" luan and it's worked out great. The boats are a lot of fun. For me, it was a little tippy at first (this was the first kayak I had ever been in) but it wasn't long before I felt very comfortable. My wife was good from the start!
