Well folks, I have goofed. It seems the cloth I bought was way heavier than the 6 oz they told me it was. (bought locally). I even questioned it, and they said yes, it is 6 oz. Then I took it home and to be sure I did a test and it wet out clear. Well last night I put the first layer on the bottom, and it seemed to be going good, but was hard to wet out. Now I look and it has some weave showing. It's not just that it needs to be filled. it is clearly that it didn't totally wet clear.
I found some six ounce cloth I had on hand and compared it and yeow...this stuff is way heavier than six ounce for sure. I wish I had just ordered cloth from a reputable resource, but hey- live and learn. SO- what I am going to do is sand the heck out of it down to where it actually slightly abrades into the cloth, and then coat over it. I tried this in a small spot and it worked. Likely there will be a little bit of a weave showing, but I am hoping to get rid of the white.
Yes, this will weaken the cloth, but this stuff is way thicker than I need anyway. That's my thought. Your thoughts?
