: I didn't read the article at first. Would be a trick getting the
: filets to form doing it the way he's doing it. Normally with a
: honeycomb the skins are rigid and the trick is to get the resin
: right to form tiny filets at the edges of the honeycomb
: material. These filets are what gives the method it's strength.

I spent far too much time reading the WHOLE site earlier today.
It DOES seem to raise more questions than it answers, but most of them are INTERESTING questions (-:

I think he doesn't depend much on trying to get epoxy to flow down and form any sort of filet between the cardboard segments for strength.
There is one point where he alludes to appearance problems that will result from putting too much epoxy on and having it drool through to the opposite skin.
It SEEMS that there is a dependence on the cardboard segments being short and stuck to each skin, though not necessarily to each other.
I would expect some amount of wicking, so maybe there is a short filet part way on some of the joints, but he doesn't count on it.
The skin spans small ('ish) areas too, so I'm guessing that the strength comes from having many very small boxes with a common "lid" and "bottom".

Anyhow, I found the whole idea of making many many "forms" only a few inches apart, in 3 directions and from such an unusual material to be novel, fun, interesting, etc.

I guess I would tend towards a more water resistant material, but CARDBOARD ?! - just might make me be sure to get it right and waterTIGHT (-:
