: Well folks, I put the first layer of 'glass on last night. It
: didn't wet out real good. It was not the epoxy, it was the
: glass. I am thoroughly convinced the local chandlery sold me the
: wrong stuff. I found some cloth scraps at home that I believe
: are 6 ounce, and this stuff is way thicker. I did do a test and
: it wetted out fine, but once I got the whole boat done there are
: some spots that you can still see the fibers, and it's not just
: that it needs a fill coat. It is definately the wet-out. I just
: put a fill coat and I'm just going to have to live with what
: I've got. At least it's the bottom of the boat. I will order
: some proper fiberglass for the deck from a reputable dealer.

I'd suspect it's sized (treated) to be compatable with polyester resin, most glass is since most glass work is done with polyester resin. It'll still work with epoxy it just doesn't wet out as nicely as glass with the proper sizing. The thickness of the cloth shouldn't matter, just takes much more resin to fill the cloth.
