Confession & full agreement on West 207.
I used West 207 on the Modified Great Auk I built 4-1/2 years ago. I store my 'yak outside in my Los Angeles backyard. When I paddle midweek, I strap it on my car and it sits in the parking lot all day at work. I did use a cover for several months...but mostly I'm pretty lazy. If there's any oxidation, I can't see it.
It took me three years to sand it down a bit fix a few dings, put on a fresh thin layer of 207, and then varnish(for the first time). I'm sure most of the varnish has since worn off. I don't think I'll ever use varnish again.

My neglectful (but happy) 4-1/2 years is a harsh test. 207 seems to hold up incredibly well to UV and sunlight. At this time I can't see using anything else.
