For what it's worth, TW Perry in Bethesda sells Cedar 2x4s (or used to) 2x6s and 2x10s for a significantly cheaper price. (I think I paid about $8 for a 2x4x8.) It takes a little digging through their stock but finding clear straight grained boards isn't hard to do.

I like Exotic Lumber (I go to the Gaithersburg store) but I would never buy cedar from them. I only buy figured woods or hard to find woods from them, neither of which I use on boats.
