My vote goes to webbing loops also, except I'll be using 6-32 machine screws, nuts and washers since I'll have no sheer clamps. I've used practically every other scheme under the sun, and have decided on this way as the easiest to deal with at refinishing time. The photo below shows the deck rigging arrangement I have settled on after nine kayak. Number Ten will have the webbing loops (and perimeter line too), but otherwise will look pretty much just like this. Oh, and there's another bungee at the stern like the one up near the bow; they're handy for storing long stuff, like spare paddles, fishing poles, etc.

Don't forget to add a paddle park and underdeck bungees. Take a look at this guy's web page, he's a real whiz....
