I built a Rolldarka (the other Baidarka-style boat from Tom) for my wife and we shortened it to 16.5'. Not because of the garage, but because my wife decided she might try racing the thing in the Fast Sea Kayak category and we had to adjust the plans a little. I don't think it will matter much as Tom is pretty flexible on how the ends should be done.
We have not launched it yet, so I can't tell what will happen. I had some trouble with using DelftShip for modelling the stats due to the baidarka ending where the splines either go haywire or get cut off. We'll see.
