: Red and blue not so good together - It was a good thick paint job
: and a bear to get through. I will be going two tone but using
: the original red combined with black. I have been looking into a
: penetrating epoxy, I've read it is higher in solvents to find
: it's way in pores and the spider cracks I will repair on the
: hull, then go with a marine paint for UV protection. I will be
: assisted by a local pro if I can get my money right.
: Thanks \\dp
Spider cracks come from the over thick gelcoat, it's pretty brittle and any flex in the hull cracks it. No reason to not use chemical strippers, few will have much of an effect on gelcoat. I prefer Star10 but you have to order it online as I've never seen it in stores. One of the citrus stippers would probably work well too.
