If it happens at the lap lines, I would make a guess that your batch size was a bit too large and your epoxy was starting to kick just a bit, so it was not as viscous and couldn't thoroughly wet out the cloth to the point of transparency. I had this happen to me when I was working on a very warm day.

I am an extreme perfectionist and I know how devastating this can be, but please trust me that once you paddle it a couple of times and building it is not your primary goal you will neither notice nor care about so minor an imperfection.

I know you didn't use West, but here is a link to West's journal, issue 16. There is an article by Ted Moores that is the method West recommends for a clear layup. It will have value even if you use a different brand. http://www.epoxyworks.com/16/index16.html
