I've done the stacked plywood; it's nice looking, and effective. I did not use the strips for the lip, as Etienne did; that's very nice!
I'm building a Storm LT (or 'was'; amazing what -20 F will do to the best laid plans) and someday, will finish the coaming using Vaclav's method, modified. I couldn't find any flex ply, so I did the riser using the wood strips ala Nick's method; I think it will be very nice looking, and quite strong, as well. I picked up a bit more than a yard of Carbon fiber cloth on E-bay (TGFEB) for $25 (thanks, Bill Hamm). I've run through the method, in my head, for 6 months now, including possible 'complications'. I think it'll be a nice coaming. Nice thing about these methods - they're all good.
