When I built my Cirrus, I used Vaclav's technique and I like it very much. This was my first kayak build and I was very impressed that it turned out so nice. I don't use a spray skirt since I only use the Cirrus on calm lakes now and I have some mobility problems getting out of the cockpit. I am 72 and have had a hip replacement and am looking at getting the other done soon. I'll be back in the boat this spring some time on Old Hickory Lake in Nashville.
