I had to build a coaming in a real hurry once and came up with a method of making all the pieces off the boat, and then installing everything in one session. I have photos of this somewhere and will post if I can find them. The method avoids bending strips around the pointy end of the egg by using a solid piece in front, with the lip strips running out past it. This "runout" design is a little unusual, I guess, but I like it and have used it on two subsequent builds, including this one, a Storm SLT. Doing it this way also allowed me to make the lip so that it's a little deeper as it runs to the back, which makes attaching a sprayskirt easier. You can see the deepening taper in the photo.
