: I am building a 17' sea kayak. I am just now ready to start laying
: up the strips on the frame. I am in Chicago and the temperature
: just dropped to 10ish. Cold yes but since I am Norwegian I can
: handle the cold. The glue on the other hand is domestic and am
: not sure if it will cure well, and if it does will it have lost
: any strength. I do not have the name of the glue, but it is your
: normal waterproof yellow glue. I will be fiberglassing later
: when the weather warms. Any insight would be great. I want to
: keep on working on this as my winter project, but I do not want
: to waste money heating the area. Thank you for your insight.
You should be OK, particularly if you're using staples. The edge glue won't be taking and significant stress for a while (until you remove the staples) and so it'll have plenty of time to cure, even in the cold.
