Great page on speed and length. I think you make a very clear case.

I'm slowly getting around to making a 20' x 20" swedeform design, and I worry that I might wind up with an unusable kayak.
What I gather from your work is that if I now consistently keep a 4 knot pace in my Great Auk (4.6 mph) than 20' should/could/may work.
I usually paddle point to point on usually calm water off Southern California.
A paddle for your thoughts?
