For years, we just used yogourt tubs, or other plastic containers - amazing how much water you can move with one when you're sitting up to your whatever in it...

Again, a floating line with a small buoy on the end works - we used 50 foot, 5/16" poly lines with a cork fishing float about the size of a bagel on the end for years...

That's a little trickier - making the saddles is pretty straight-forward, but you have to figure out how to make a rock-solid attachment to the bars...
