: I am in awe of your see-thru canoe and would like to build
: something similar. Could you point me in the right direction for
: plans or tips for building something like this perhaps in a size
: that would accomodate two of my teen-age daughters?
Thanks, Marc.
Transparent vinyl is just a skinning option for any SOF kayak or canoe. If you're interested in building a larger, traditionally constructed, SOF canoe, then get a copy of Robert Morris' "Building Skin-On-Frame Boats." It's currently out of print - and ridiculously expensive - but interlibrary loan can get it to you for free. Anyway, Morris has complete instructions for building a full sized SOF canoe, which you could then skin with clear vinyl if you so desire.
"WoodenBoat" magazine, about a year ago, also had a (two-part) article about building a solo SOF canoe - the "Solo Carry" I think. Same concept, just jigger the size.
Feel free to pm me with any questions.
Good luck!
