Yep. The V12 uses an anderson bailer. The V12 model was designed to be a better performer on the flat and therefore the bailer could be kept closed reducing drag. The downside of the anderson bailer is that if it needs to be employed such as in ocean racing or rough conditions, it imparts more drag than a conventional surfski scupper. everythings a compromise.
Having said that, the V12's are being used in all the big events with great success by the big guns. Perhaps marketing has a bit to do with that.
I was able to try a V12 on flatwater recently and it was a rocket. I'm just a back of the pack plonker in my red7 but I felt like I was ready for the olympics on the v12.
