: to do everything on my own, but it sure saves time and the cnc
: parts fit perfectly. I don't think buying precut frames is
: nescessarily cheating, especially when you're building the thing

I did the whole sides of my Disko Bay with honduras mahogany, while it's heavier than cedar it's not grossly heavy. Perhaps 20% heavier. Unless you used african mahogany which is wildly heavy, like teak.
