Hi Mike,

A couple of suggestions. Get a used paddle of any offset and sleeve or ferrule it to zero degrees.

As far as your wrist hurting, lighten your grip and get your shaft rotation from your elbow and shoulder joints with no movement from the wrist joint.

Welcome to the other darkside.

Best,

Reg

: Hi all-

: I've finally bit the bullet and I'm taking a whitewater class this
: winter. The local WW club has a lock on off-season pool
: practice, so it's partly a way to get into the pool. I'm used to
: using a Greenland paddle, and the right-hand control is making
: my wrist hurt. I'm trying to find a 0° offset paddle, but for
: the price I could buy enough carbon fiber for two paddles. I've
: never bought a boat or paddle before, so this is new territory
: for me.

: Anyone here tried to make WW paddles? I have vacuum press tools,
: and I've depended on Jon Soller before, so I'm sure his seamless
: tubing would be awesome, and the shrink tube would mean I
: wouldn't need to figure out how to vacuum press a cylinder.
