This is a great solution. I've worked with some biaxial carbon fiber, I'm sure that it would work well with the tubing.

I am being coached by instructors to do things I would never consider if I were in my sea kayak. I guess I will see when I get on the water if they are necessary or if as I expect, staying upright is more important than how I turn my wrist when I do a high brace on one side...
