I think I can help you on this one. I just got plans to build the guillemont for christmas and after reading your post I went and measured. From the bow forms waterline to the bottom of the cutout is 1", from the bottom of the cutout to the top of the cutout is 3", from the top of the cutout to the top of the form is 2 1/2". The stern form is drawn right from the waterline just like in the book. Hope this helps if so glad I could help. If there is any doubt ask WWND? (what would Nick do?) Nick........
