Bill,

That is certainly true for building around a frame. The shape of the frame dictates
the shape of the panels. My interest here is monocoque construction
where holding a bend then cutting to shape is out of the question. Also I am not trying
to predict exactly when a panel will break but rather to give designers a way to view
high stress spots in their design in order to tweak the design ahead of time to minimize
such spots. Minimizing these high stress spots will help the overall shape of the boat stay
straight and true. Less strain and pull all over = less tendency to warp over all during
assembly. The numbers I will use will be very conservative to try to cover the variations that Chris
wrote about.
