At one time this board kept me quite busy. I had to monitor the conversations, answer most of the questions and keep "that guy" in line. There was ample reason why I originally wrote the guidelines: http://www.kayakforum.com/Guidelines/Guidelines.html . Now I can let the board do its thing with confidence that you all will offer sound advice and be helpful while staying civil. And this all happens even though I expect many have not even read the guidelines.

Back in March of 1997 I installed the script that brought this BBS into being: http://web.archive.org/web/19970531003147/www.guillemot-kayaks.com/wwwboard/wwwboard.html I thought it would be an interesting experiment into what the internet could do. Little did I know that 13 years and 190,000+ messages later the experiment would still going strong. The only reason this message board is still of any value at all is because of those of you who offer your questions and answers here for others to consider.
