: The F1 never gets mentions on this board!

: I still think Brian's F1 would be workable pretty well for both.
: Brian has written reams on why his 14' boat is near-perfect and
: how seaworthy it is... He definitely does conditions many of us
: would consider extreme, and he's got the photos on his web site.
: Claims it tracks in quartering conditions and will do a 360 in
: five sweep strokes... (My Night Heron does it in 6) The plans
: are on the site for free. I'm going to build one for my wife...
: If the gods ever allow my other projects to finally be
: completed. Here's hoping Ganesh can help me out a bit in this
: regard.

I do like the F1 too btw. Yeah for some reason it doesn't get mentioned here often, though then again most boat designs other than Nick's do either.

I've got several SOF's though and mine are generally more tough than most, but I still don't prefer them on our rivers, too many snags (trees in the water) awfully easy to poke holes in the fabric with them with an accelerated boat in the current. Hit a broke sizeable branch when the boat is moving 10-15 mph and you have a bunch of impact force.
