I just use a cheap normal paint scraper with the long handle and one of those 4-way scraper blades. They're square and two opposing sides of the blade face down and the other two face up. I grind a rounded surface on the blade and use that. The surprising thing is how smooth you can actually get the inside pulling along the strips. It works great. Then I hand sand the sides with some 80 grit. I don't go any finer than that. On the floor of the boat where it's flatter, you can get away with the ROS. There i go with 100 grit.
