For all of you waiting with baited breath, Day 2 Results are in.

Remember, I gave it every opportunity to fail with very little attempt to work the epoxy into the fabric. I wanted to see what the epoxy would do by itself.

Silvertip cold- lots of unsaturated fibers showing up as small silver lines (rays) when the light is right. A few bubbles.
Silvertip warm - not as many of the silver rays, but still very noticeable. A few bubbles.
Raka cold: very few rays, maybe four! The light had to be Just right to spot them. There were, however many small bubbles under the fabric. My guess is the epoxy soaks into the glass faster than the air can escape.

Also, I dropped a 28 oz ball-peen hammer on the raka to test it's bruiseabilty (a problem on boat number 1. It dented, but did not fracture the epoxy. I'll test again after it fully cures in a week or two.

Note: In dim light you can't see the rays, I will just have to go paddling with Kayak number 2 on cloudy days (ya, right).

Result, IMHO, Raka wins the wetout race.

Next: I've applied a top coat of Silvertip to the Raka. Stay tuned for more exciting developments!
