Earlier this week I posted a link to Brian Schulz's Cape Falcon Kayaks F1 design. Today he posted a new page about repairing a hole in the kayak's skin. If you paddle a skin-on-frame kayak you should probably see this, and if you don't already have the tools in your emergency kit you could add them pretty cheaply.

On the subject of emergency kits- everyone should carry one, not just SOF owners. You may never need it, but a friend of mine in a high-end commercial composite kayak was saved last spring after dropping her kayak while taking it off from the car and cracking it by a friend paddling a SOF who happened to have duct tape in her repair kit. In this case she would have just missed a nice paddle, but better safe than sorry...
