Another question - if I were to make a hollow-core (well, may be stuffed with some styrofoam to ensure buoyancy in case of a puncture) strip-built paddle with carbon/fiberglass layer on top. Would wood glue work or would you recommend epoxy for the strips to hang together? I suppose, in terms of good [just right] flex mostly...

: Good surface prep is essential and good clamping pressure. If you
: do that right the joint is amazingly strong. Just be sure and
: use No 3, the waterproof glue.
: Epoxy should work just as good. There is just more room for error
: in mixing or over clamping. I have used both with good results.
: I just like Titbond since there is no mixing and it is less
