: Couple things. I've used the "heat n bond" method of
: attaching the fabric, it works ok, kind of a pain in the butt
: though. It doesn't stick as well as you'd like sometimes. Might
: be better to epoxy or varnish the frame prior to using it to
: give a smooth and flat surface for it to bond to.
: UHMW I've used alot, it's MUCH more damage resistant than any rocks
: you'll ever see. It's commonly used in industrial uses for wear
: strips and normally the steel fasteners used to hold it in place
: wear thru well before the plastic does. It is fairly soft, but
: it's amazingly damage resistant. Downside is it doesn't stick to
: much of anything, so it would be difficult to glue down.

Oh yeah btw, one nice thing about "heat n bond" is it's almost completely invisible under the fabric, so if you were planning on a translucent cover it would look much nicer than using any metal fasteners.
