I have some frequent flier miles I need to burn by the end of March ( I know a real bummer but someone needs to use them). I am thinking of taking my son and son-in-law on a kayak trip to Florida. It should be fun for a pack of western desert rats. My preference list of priorities is 1st to have a good Florida experience, 2nd go as cheap as possible avoiding rental cars/hotels if we can (in my book this is part of a good experience), 3rd see some good marine/bird life, 4th be able to rent some good kayaks preferably in the 22-23” width 17-18’ long range and glass if possible. Any suggestions on locations, outfitters, or logistics from those of you that are familiar with the area would be appreciated. Everyone in the group is a good distance paddler so 15-20 mile days are typical and some longer days are O.K. Intermediate conditions would be what we are looking for. We should have about 7 days for the entire trip.
